Loraine is a self proclaimed toxic friendship survivor and educator. After enduring the pain, emotional suffering, and ultimate ending of an unhealthy friendship, she set out on a mission to help others who were seeking answers and support for this rarely talked about subject.
Her mission is simple: to educate, inspire, and motivate others to take control over their toxic friendships or any other type of toxic relationship in their lives via materials created by The Toxic Friendship Project.
Loraine began to educate people on the ills of unhealthy friendships by writing numerous internet articles and poetry on the topic. She soon discovered that writing about toxic friendships and corresponding with others who were experiencing the same thing provided a truly cathartic experience for herself. So she continued to write and also encouraged others to write as well.
She received lots of positive feedback which motivated her to research the topic even more. That research lead to the creation of the several online surveys which had over 4000 respondents. Further research, personal interviews, testimonials from victims, data gathered from the surveys, and of course her own personal experience with a toxic friend formed the basis for her new book series, Toxic Friends.
